Bordered on the west by Georgian Bay, on the east by the hills of the Haliburton Highlands, on the north by the southern side of the Canadian Shield, and on the south by the rolling hills and flatlands of Huronia, the District of Muskoka boasts thousands of fresh water lakes and rivers that are loaded with every species of freshwater gamefish that can be found in Ontario. For the most part unaffected by acid rain and pollution, the rivers and lakes of Muskoka have long been reknown for their fisheries. The current Ontario record Muskellunge is from Blackstone Harbour in Georgian Bay. The Ontario record Tiger Muskie and the long time Ontario record Walleye (Pickerel) are from the Moon River, just north of our home base at Go Home Lake.
